One-Way NJ Transit Tickets Will Soon Expire After 30 Days
NJ Transit is rolling out a new policy for its one-way tickets. Beginning Monday, July 1, all one-way tickets will expire after 30 days, NJ Transit announced. All tickets purchased prior to July 1, will expire on July 31, regardless of their original date of purchase. There will be no changes to the existing refund policy, NJ Transit said. The 20-trip FLEXPASS pilot fare will be discontinued on July 1, NJ Transit said. The last date to purchase a FLEXPASS is Sunday, June 30, NJ Transit said. Reports of a small plane crash along the Jersey Shore Tuesday, May 7 turned out to be nothing at all, police said. Barnegat police received an "unconfirmed report" of a small aircraft crash on Tuesday, May 7, the department said in a Facebook post at 3:53 p.m., bringing multiple agencies to the scene. Family Seeks Help Returning Jersey Shore Drowning Victim's Body To Ecuador: Fundraiser
A family is asking for help returning an Essex County man's body to his native Ecuador after he drowned at a beach along the Jersey Shore, a campaign fundraiser said. According to a GoFundMe page, 23-year-old Wilmer Lalvay of Belleville drowned on Saturday, May 4. The fundraiser was created by Lalvay's cousin Norma Minchala Perez. Two men and a woman were accused of firing gunshots from the balcony of a hotel near the beachfront in Atlantic City, authorities said. Tawanne Williams, 42, of Philadelphia, and Jessica Bryant, 33, of Atlantic City, pleaded guilty to charges on Monday, May 6. A Toms River ex-convict was accused of committing more than 15 burglaries in a week, including at least one when he was armed, authorities said. Christopher Green, 31, was arrested on Wednesday, May 1, the Lakewood Police Department said in a news release.
