The department did not give a reason for the postponement and noted the roadwork has been postponed until further notice.

The project will replace the East 3rd Street bridge, which carries East Lincoln Avenue over the Hutchinson River Parkway, near the border of Pelham and Mount Vernon.

The closure had been planned to start at 11 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28 and last through 5 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 1 in advance of the morning commute.
