Kissner was named the Con Edison Athlete of the Week. The award recognizes students in Westchester and Putnam who excel athletically and academically.

Leadership, citizenship and school and community activities are also taken into account when naming a recipient. Winners are selected each week by a panel of athletic directors and coaches who review ballots submitted by each student athlete's athletic director or coach.

Kissner is credited with revolutionizing the tennis program at Hendrick Hudson.

“From the moment he stepped on the court in seventh grade, I knew we were on the precipice of something special," tennis coach Bradley Friedman said.

Kissner has 97-20 record and has been All-Section three years in a row. Kissner has helped Fredman run a tennis camp for special needs students in the district for years and last year he took his involvement a step further by starting his own after- school adaptive tennis program for these students and incorporating members of the boys’ and girls’ tennis teams as counselors.

Kissner is a member of The National Honor Society, Science Competition Club, and the Mathlete Club.
