Twelve Hen Hud Students Inducted Into National Technical Honor Society

Twelve Hendrick Hudson High School students were inducted into the National Technical Honor Society at an event Thursday, having demonstrated scholarship, character, leadership, service and skill at an exemplary level.

The honorees and their fields of study were: Marcus Andre (New Visions Health); Mikayla Barton (Fashion Design and Merchandising); Kelsey Byrne (New Visions Health); Thomas Calandro (Urban Forestry/Arboriculture); Lauren Mandelkow (Sports Medicine); Jennifer Martinez (Animation and Motion Graphics); Jennifer Morillo (Fashion Design and Merchandising); Ian Murray (New Visions Engineering); Danielle Pavlik (Cosmetology); Elizabeth Quezada-O’Rourke (Cosmetology); Gene Quinto (Microcomputer Technology) and Samantha Squillante (Cosmetology)

The event was held at Putnam | Northern Westchester BOCES’ Yorktown campus on and was attended by BOCES administration, Tech Center faculty, students, friends and family members. 

To be nominated for the Honor Society, students had to maintain a 90 or better average in their course of study at tech and an 80 or better at their home school district. 

BOCES Superintendent Dr. James Ryan told the students that he and the faculty were proud of them.

 “I have seldom seen students who have such tremendous composure, maturity and focus on their areas of interest,” Ryan said. “I really am so taken by the dedication that you have for your areas of interest and I know that you are going to do great things as you go from Putnam | Northern Westchester BOCES.”
