The big rig professionals shared information about the trucks and their work, answering questions, and doing a real-life show and tell.
Students from grades pre-K through four toured the trucks inside and out, with opportunities to go inside some of them and sit behind the wheel.
Declan, a guide dog, was also on hand, and he proved very popular with the students.
Trooper Dimitriy Kaushanskiy of the New York State Police used the Roll Over truck to demonstrate very effectively (with a dummy) what happens when people don't wear seat belts.
Other trucks came from Mt. Pleasant Police Department, Elmsford Fire Department, Pocantico Hills Fire Department, Glen’s Towing, Empress Ambulance, and the backhoe was from the nearby Rockefeller estate.
The event was organized by school parent Danielle Preiser, as it has been for the last few years. It was originally organized in the ‘90s by Marcia Finsmith, who now works in the school.
