Tarrytown Plans School Superintendent Search Forum

SLEEPY HOLLOW, N.Y. – The Public Schools of the Tarrytowns continues its search for a new superintendent this week with a public forum on Wednesday.

Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow residents are invited to participate in an open forum on the new superintendent at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Sleepy Hollow High School auditorium. A similar forum was held on Oct. 10.

Superintendent Howard Smith has announced he plans to retire at the end of the 2012 school year. School board officials hired search firm Hazard, Young, Attea and Associates at the end of August and hope to appoint a new superintendent in February.

The school district has also posted a superintendent survey on its website in both English and Spanish. The survey will expire on Oct. 22.
