Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow voters also passed a proposed $68.7 million budget that keeps staff levels and programs about the same while staying under the tax cap. The budget would raise the tax rate by an estimated 1.53 percent for Greenburgh residents and .04 percent for Mount Pleasant residents.

A proposition to allow the Board of Education to spend money it already has in the transportation program was also passed.

Jennifer Liddy-Green received 536 votes. Carol Banino received 478 votes. Vincent Nadile received 443 votes. John Paine received 394 votes.

Liddy-Green and Banino will serve three-year terms. Nadile will serve the remaining year on retiring school board member Sheila Conklin's term.

The budget passed with 75 percent of the vote, receiving 595 yes votes and 191 no votes. The transportation proposition received 603 yes votes and 149 no votes.

School Board President B. Joseph Lillis said the budget vote was "wonderful" and that he looked forward to working with the new school board members next year.

Liddy-Green has lived in Sleepy Hollow with her husband and three sons since 2000. Green is a stay-at-home mom. She previously worked as a litigator in Manhattan for 10 years, first as a prosecutor in Manhattan Family Court and then in civil litigation for private companies and public agencies such as the New York City Board of Education and the New York City Police Department.

"I'm very excited to start my three-year term," Liddy-Green said, noting that the other school board candidates were great. "I'm glad we had a lot of people throw their hat in the ring."

Incumbent Vincent Nadile has been a member of the Board of Education for eight years. Nadile has lived in Tarrytown with his wife and three children since 1990. He currently works as a practicing attorney at an insurance-related company, where he specializes in contract law.

Banino is a Sleepy Hollow resident with two children enrolled in the Public Schools of the Tarrytowns. A former corporate attorney, she now works as a stay-at-home mother. She previously served as Board President, as well as co-chair of the Fundraising Committee, for the Torbank Nursery School in Ossining.
