Tarrytown Names Interim Principal at John Paulding

TARRYTOWN, N.Y. – A retiring principal is postponing her goodbye to fill a vacant spot at John Paulding School.

Rosemary Prati will serve as interim principal at the school through the 2012-13 school year while officials search for a permanent replacement. Prati replaces retiring principal Michele Milliam.

The Board of Education of the Public Schools of the Tarrytowns approved the decision at their Tuesday meeting. Prati will receive a salary of $155,119.

Prati, the former principal at Winfield L. Morse Elementary School, had planned June 30 to be her last day. School board members have already named former Ardsley principal Thomas Holland as Prati's replacement at Morse.

Prati earned her bachelor's degree from Baruch College in New York City, a master's degree from Herbert H. Lehman College in the Bronx and a master's degree from Fordham University in the Bronx.

Prati spent two years at Morse Elementary. Before that, she was an elementary principal at P.S. 91 in the Bronx and an assistant principal at P.S. 63 in the Bronx.
