New Townhomes Debut At Tarrytown's Hudson Harbor

TARRYTOWN, N.Y. – Residents have plenty of opportunities over the next several weeks to sneak a peek at the newest waterfront development under construction in Tarrytown.

The new Carriage Houses development at Hudson Harbor debuted Thursday evening to an excited crowd who got to tour the “American Dream Home,” a project, co-sponsored by Westchester magazine, that highlights American home design and energy efficiency.

“We’ve packed a lot of cool ideas into this compact carriage house,” the home's interior designer, Susan Anthony, said. “When we designed the interiors, we wanted to show that you can take some traditional pieces that you love — we used some American antiques and artifacts—perhaps use them differently, and blend them with new choices to form a different design story and way of living.”

Tours of the new two-story townhouse began Friday, Oct. 19, and run through Nov. 11, with donations benefiting Historic Hudson Valley. Tickets are available online.

The Dream Home is one of 27 planned townhomes in the Hudson Harbor development. Officials say the homes are designed to be energy-efficient and LEED-registered. Each house includes three bedrooms, three baths, a patio and two-car garage.

The “carriage houses” are designed to feature traditional architecture from estates in the Hudson Valley.
