Orangetown Police Seek Public's Help In Fatal Hit-And-Run Cold Case

ORANGETOWN, N.Y. -- The Town of Orangetown Police Department is requesting help in the unsolved fatal car accident that took the life of Jimmy McNicholas. 

Orangetown Police and the family of Jimmy McNicholas are asking for help in finding the person responsible for a hit-and-run accident that took his life in 2009. McNicholas is surrounded by his nieces and nephews, who he treated as his own.

The hit-and-run accident occurred on Sunday, May 31, 2009 between 1:15 a.m. and 1:33 a.m. on North Middletown Rd., Pearl River. 

Police said they are confident that there are members of our community that have additional information on this unsolved crime.

McNicholas' family said he was very close to all of them, especially his nieces and nephews, who he treated like his own children, never missing a baseball or soccer game, or special event in their lives.

The family is offering a $10,000 reward that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for his death.
