SLEEPY HOLLOW, N.Y. – A federal jury has awarded a Sleepy Hollow man and his ex-wife a little more than $1 million for a violent altercation between them and a police officer in 2008, according to lohud.com.
Mario Gomez, a retired corrections officer, made a phone call to Jose Quinoy, a married police detective and neighbor, because he believed Quinoy was having an affair with his then-22-year-old daughter, lohud.com reported.
The jury’s verdict was that Quinoy applied undue physical force against Gomez and his then-wife, Awilda Gomez, and falsely arrested the couple, lohud.com reported.
