Reports Say Tarrytown Woman Killed At Hofstra Shot By Cops

TARRYTOWN, N.Y. - The 21-year-old Tarrytown woman killed Friday during a home invasion on Long Island was killed by a police officer's bullet, several published reports said. 

Andrea Rebello, a Hofstra junior, was shot once in the head when her home was invaded by a masked intruder, police said. According to several reports, the shot was fired by a Nassau County officer who was aiming at the suspect, who was also killed. 

Rebello was a graduate of Sleepy Hollow High School. She is survived by her parents Fernando and Nella, her twin sister and best friend Jessica and her extended family of grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins in Portugal. Visitation will be at Coffey Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4  to 8 p.m.. Her Funeral Mass will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Teresa of Avila Church with interment to follow in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.
