Irvington Man Killed In One-Car Crash In Connecticut

NORWALK, Conn. -- A 51-year-old New York man was killed in a one-car accident Sunday night in Norwalk near the New Canaan border.

Police were called to the intersection of Nursery Street and Nursery Court at 11:36 p.m. Sunday on a report of a one-car accident with injuries. Norwalk Fire and EMS arrived on the scene, as did New Canaan Police and New Canaan Fire due to the accident's close proximity to the New Canaan border.

The driver of the car was extricated from the vehicle and taken to Norwalk Hospital, where he died of his injuries, police said. The driver was identified as Joshua Slavitt, 51, of Irvington, N.Y.

The accident remains under investigation Tuesday by the Norwalk Police Crash Reconstruction Investigators. Anyone who witnessed the crash or has any information is asked to contact Norwalk Police Officer Chris Wasilewski at 203-854-3114.
