Man Charged With DWI After Tarrytown Accident

TARRYTOWN, N.Y. – A motorist was charged with driving while intoxicated and ended up in the hospital after getting into an accident at a Tarrytown gas station.

Police charged Donald Gheen, 69, with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, after several people reported a car accident in the Hess Gas Station parking lot around noon on Aug. 30.

Emergency responders found Gheen unresponsive at the accident scene and took him to the Westchester County Medical Center, where he consented to a blood test.

Police also reported the following items:

• The DoubleTree Hotel reported a guest left without paying on Sept. 1 after spending 15 days at the hotel.

• Police were called after three people got into a shoving match at the Asbury Terrance complex around 1 p.m. on Sept. 1. A woman who suffered a small scratch on her chin refused police action.

• Tarrytown police charged Diego Fernando Calle, 18, with fifth-degree criminal possession of marijuana, a misdemeanor, on Aug. 31.

• Someone reported on Aug. 31 a tree on West Main Street had been poised and died. The tree had been the subject of controversy for Hudson Harbor residents, the person noted.

• A motorist struck a sign post at the Chase Bank on South Broadway around 9 a.m. on Aug. 31.

• Four missing Linden Hills School students were found on White Plains Road around 8 a.m. on Aug. 31 after one student's mother notified police her daughter might be staying at her grandmother's house in Tarrytown.

• A drunk man was taken to Phelps Memorial Hospital after being found on Main Street bleeding with a laceration above his eye around 2 a.m. on Aug. 31.

• Tarrytown firefighters extinguished a small brush fire on Franklin Street around 10 a.m. on Aug. 30.
