Silvio Raul Illescas, 40, is charged with second-degree assault and first-degree attempted rape, law enforcement officials said.

A 23-year-old woman from California was taken to the Westchester Medical Center around 2 a.m. on Feb. 23 after a man slashed her throat and tried to rape her while at the DoubleTree Hotel, Tarrytown Police Lt. William Herguth said.

The woman met the man after posting an escort advertisement on backpage.com, Herguth said. He said she was treated and released for her neck injuries the same day.

Greenburgh police charged Illescas earlier this week for two similar crimes at Greenburgh hotels. A 19-year-old Pennsylvania resident reported she had been raped at knifepoint at the La Quinta Hotel on Saw Mill River Road in Greenburgh on Sunday.

Another woman, a 29-year-old, reported she had been raped at the Westchester Marriott Hotel in February.

Tarrytown Police arrested Illescas Wednesday at the Westchester County Jail after determining he was the suspect they were looking for, Herguth said.

Illescas was arraigned without bail and taken back to the county jail.
