“Hope Hose FD and Conqueror FD supply the water power that makes the Rubber Duck Derby a success, but they go far beyond that," said Mimi Godwin, Rotary Club member and derby organizer. "The stream and the park are in bad shape after the winter, and the fire department volunteers go down to the park and clean out the stream to make it possible for the rubber ducks to race."

Rotary Club member and derby organizer JoAnne Murray said:,"“Tarrytown Volunteer Ambulance Corps keeps the Rotary Costumed Ducks hydrated and safe. It’s hot in those costumes even on days the public thinks it’s cool. Proper hydration is important and TVAC makes sure the ducks are hydrated.”

Kelly Murphy, Fire Chief, accepted the recognition on behalf of Hope Hose FD and Burt Hurvich accepted for TVAC.
