The Tarrytown Community Opportunity Center is looking for assistance with their after school program.
The organization receives more than $30 million in 2015 from dozens of government, private, and commercial sources throughout the Hudson Valley.
It administers some 24 programs addressing almost every social need including community action, early childhood development, support services for veterans and their families, employment and training, victims assistance, and foster grandparents program.
Currently, two to three volunteers are needed to help children with their homework and work on school projects. Ideally, the volunteer would be able to commit to work Monday through Thursday from 3 to 5 p.m. They are also looking for a bi-lingual volunteer to assist with some administrative work two evenings (5 to 8 p.m.) in March, working with native Spanish-speakers as they fill out paperwork
To volunteer, email Melissa Baer at melissa.baer@jcconthehudson.org. The Center is part of the Westchester Engage program of the UJA Federation of New York.
