The Tarrytown Volunteer Fire Department will host a joint ceremony with the Sleepy Hollow Volunteer Fire Department beginning at 8 a.m. at the Main Street Firehouse in Tarrytown on Sunday, September 11.
After the Main Street Firehouse activities, the two fire departments will then march along Washington St., ending in Patriot's Park, where they will conduct another short ceremony.
Westchester County will hold a ceremony at 6 p.m. Sunday at the countys 9/11 memorial, The Rising, located at the Kensico Dam Plaza, in Valhalla.
County Executive Rob Astorino, other elected officials and families of the 111 Westchester County residents who died that day are expected to attend.
The event will include a candle lighting ceremony to honor those that were lost during the tragedy ten years ago.
The annual event will be held during twilight hours in order to allow residents to attend other 9/11 memorials being held around the county.
