Greenburgh police arrested David C. DeLaurentis, 25, 117 E. 118th St., New York City. DeLaurentis has 72 prior arrests, including 17 felonies, and has been convicted 27 times, police said. He was scheduled to be arraigned on a charge of third-degree robbery Monday night in Town of Greenburgh Court.
At about noon Monday, Greenburgh police officers responded to a report of a robbery at the Chase bank. The caller told police a man handed a note to a bank teller demanding money. The teller gave the man the money, and he walked out of the bank, heading north, police said. No weapons were used or threatened by the suspect, nor were there any injuries, police said.
About 20 minutes later, police observed a man walking in the parking lot of Sports Time, 380 Saw Mill River Road, Elmsford, just north of the JP Morgan Chase Bank. The officer stopped and detained the man, who subsequently was identified by witnesses as the person who allegedly robbed the bank, police said. About $4,000 reportedly was recovered from DeLaurentis, police said.
