New Tappan Zee Bridge Girders To Be Placed By Year's End

TARRYTOWN, N.Y. -- The girders of the new Tappan Zee Bridge are being assembled and will soon be installed, according to lohud.com.

According to the report, the girders leading from the Westchester side of the span are being assembled and are expected to be in place by the end of the year while those leading from the Rockland side are scheduled to be placed next month.

The blue girders, which, according to lohud, total 30 miles in length, will rest upon concrete columns and support the $4 billion bridge's deck.
