Kykuit Estate In Pocantico Hills Opens Saturday

POCANTICO HILLS, N.Y. – Kykuit, the former Rockefeller estate, now a tourist attraction, is once again opening to visitors for the season, Historic Hudson Valley announced recently. The six-story mansion sits on a rolling hilltop and features a large modern and classic art collection, extensive gardens and classic architecture. Visitors to the estate are able to explore the site while learning about its former tenants, the Rockefellers.

Daily tours will be available beginning Saturday, May 5, and ending Sunday, Nov. 4. The house will be open every day of the week, except Tuesday.

“We use the remarkable backdrop of the house, sculptures, gardens and landscape to tell the story of the Rockefellers’ commitment to philanthropy, public service, the environment and the arts, as well as its family traditions,” said Thom Thacker, director of the Kykuit visitation program for Historic Hudson Valley, a non-profit organization that runs public programs at Kykuit for the National Trust. Historic Hudson Valley preserves several other historical sites in Westchester County.

Tickets to tour Kykuit are available at the Historic Hudson Valley website and range from $34 to $40, depending on the tour selected. Historic Hudson Valley recommends purchasing tickets early, especially for weekend tours.
