The flag was hung outside the church at 43 S. Broadway in response to the terrorist attack early Sunday that killed 49 people and wounded 53 others at a gay nightclub in Orlando, Fla., according to lohud.com.

On Tuesday morning, the church found the flag had been cut down from a front fence and removed, according to lohud.com.

The Rev. Susan Copley told lohud.com that "it looked very intentional, and it was upsetting."

Copley said she plans to replace the missing flag, according to lohud.com.
