Third Friday has been taking place in Tarrytown since September of 2003, with the support and efforts of many community members. Conceived of and launched by Jenifer Ross, the event has grown into a Tarrytown tradition.
The recent incarnation included a scavenger hunt, music by Rocket Sauce, face-painting by Heather Huston of Fantabulous Faces and a puppet show by Jill Liflander of Jilly Puppets. Carlo Pellegrini, of Westchester Circus Arts, also ran a juggling and circus arts booth.
Third Friday events are on -- no surprise -- the third Friday of the month, from June to December. The festivities typically run from 5-9 p.m. Check out the website for updated information.
The next Third Friday will be Friday, Sept. 16. It will feature a bounce house sponsored by the Teachers Association of the Tarrytowns, face-painting by Fantabulous Faces, music by Funk & Disorderly and a dance demo by the Dance Academy of Family YMCA at Tarrytown.
The event series is supported by the Village of Tarrytown, including the Recreation Department, Department of Public Works and participating merchants. For more information, email tarrytown3rdfriday@gmail.com.
