In order to make room for the MRI, the old lobby was transitioned into space for the MRI. The new lobby was moved to the right and is a modern space with a café and an area to sit and relax.

CEO Dan Blum spoke about transitioning to a place where people could gather in what is often a stressful time in their lives, meditate, charge cell phones or sit and reflect. Senator Terrance Murphy was on hand to congratulate the hospital along with Dennis Connors, regional executive director of Northwell Health.

Kevin Plunkett, deputy county executive, shared stories of his childhood growing up in Tarrytown and visits to the hospital. Richard Sinni, chairman of the board for Phelps, spoke of the teamwork during the construction and the plans to expand Phelps to include a cancer treatment center.

Representatives from nearby villages were present to help celebrate a new beginning for the community hospital that serves many surrounding villages throughout Westchester County.
