TARRYTOWN, N.Y. -- Lyndhurst is offering a full-day art and shopping experience for the entire family from Sept. 12 through Sept. 14, in celebration of its 30th anniversary.
Crafts at Lyndhurst will feature more than 275 artists and craftspeople selling their amazing contemporary American-made works. Crafts at Lyndhurst will feature the work of 30-year veterans such as Charles Donofrio and Robert Zarcone (exotic leather handbags); Ricky Boscarino of Luna Park (quirky sterling silver jewelry); Lesley Reich (porcelain poetry pottery); and Marsha Fleisher of Loominus (trending chenille fashions).
The work of artists never before seen at the festival also will be shown. Artists include Jake Pfeifer (colorful hand-blown glass); Eve Camacho-Sanchez (intricate felted garments and accessories); Rachel Derstine (contemporary abstract quilts) and Margo Petitti (cashmere, linen and silk unisex scarves and pillows). Visitors may make their own Shibumi silk scarves with Patricia Disantis; dance to live music by the Lindsey Webster Band and Reggie Earls and the Valley Soul; watch and participate in craft demonstrations by potter Scott Martin and wood turner Don Hart; eat in the expanded food court (which includes vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options); wander around the new Sculpture Garden; taste and bring home sweet or savory specialty foods; and entertain kids with a variety of children’s activities including face painting, storytelling, balloon animals, stilt walkers and more. A general admission weekend pass is $12; seniors (62 and older) are $11; children 6 to 16 are $4 and children under 6 are free.
