WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- Rob Clarfeld, chief executive officer of Clarfeld Financial Advisors in Tarrytown, was named by Barron's as the top independent investment adviser in New York for the sixth consecutive year.
Barron’s listed Clarfeld No. 1 in New York in the recetnly released “America’s Top 100 Independent Investment Advisors” list for 2014.
The Barron’s ranking is universally considered the most prestigious listing within the financial adviser industry, according to the Clarfeld website. Unlike many surveys that list advisers solely by quantitative metrics such as assets under management, Barron’s vetting process employs extensive qualitative assessment of the adviser’s practice, including investment philosophy, business practices, communications, contributions to the community and profession, as well as asset and revenue growth.
“This past year saw us highly ranked by Forbes, The Financial Times, as well as other publications, but the Barron's ranking is by far the gold standard of the financial services industry,” Clarfeld told the news service Reuters. “We operate in an incredibly competitive environment, among very talented firms, particularly in New York where the best of the best compete for the trust of extremely sophisticated clients.”
Clarfeld ranked eighth nationally with a score of 99.496 out of 100 and has been among the top 10 nationwide for six consecutive years.
