The Tarrytown-based biopharmaceutical company will move out of the S&P MidCap 400 and into the S&P 500 after the close of trading on Tuesday, Dow Jones Indices announced.

The move is expected after MetroPCS merges with T-Mobile USA.

Regeneron announced in early April it planned to expand its Tarrytown campus and create more than 400 new jobs.

The company plans to add two new buildings at its current site on Old Saw Mill River Road. The 300,000 square-foot office and laboratory space adds to the current 590,000 square-foot building already there and another 85,000 square-feet of additional space to be added later this year.

Regeneron had previously announced it was creating 300 new jobs in Rensselaer through the Excelsior Jobs Program.
