Rain is likely to begin falling around noon, with the rain becoming heavy with a possible thunderstorm after 4 p.m.
Up to a quarter of an inch of rain is likely during the day Saturday, which should see a daytime high of around 60 degrees.
A Dense Fog Advisory is in effect for 2 p.m. for Westchester and Putnam with visibility frequently reduced to one-quarter mile or less. Drivers are urged to slow down, use low-beam headlights and leave plenty of distance between cars. Patchy dense fog is expected to continue through around 3 p.m.
The advisory had been in effect until 11 a.m. Saturday before being extended to 2 p.m. around 10 a.m. Saturday. There is currently no fog advisory in effect for Rockland or Dutchess counties.
Rain will continue, with more thunderstorms possible, through 9 p.m., followed by a chance of rain through midnight, with another quarter-inch of rain possible in the evening.
The rain will usher in a cold front which will result in a colder day Sunday, with a high temperature only reaching the mid-40s under mostly sunny skies. The wind-chill value will make it feel more like it's between 25 and 30 degrees.
