How truly sad that some folks in a community of less than 2500 believe that mud slinging and name calling has a place in local politics. Mr. Donahue's impact on the Village of Buchanan cannot be clouded regardless of what might be written in some letter. View Comment
Cyberbullying is only a symptom. Poor parenting is the actual problem. Kids have way too much freedom to use electronic devices to send out whatever their twisted little minds conjure up without any parental oversight. Many parents don't want to intrude into the "privacy" of their little daemon who is using a tablet or smart phone which is being paid for by their permissive parents. Kids need to be taught right from wrong. If parents don't get involved & teach them, who will? It's not intruding, it's parenting. View Comment
Al Donahue has been a friend of my family for many years. I have had one of his signs in my front yard every March since I moved to Buchanan. Regardless of the circumstances next year I will not be putting up his sign. It's over. It's time for Al to sit back, kick up his feet, pop open a Fresca, enjoy his retirement, and let history show exactly what Al Donahue has done for the Village of Buchanan View Comment
Sorry miggs & QB, but I completely disagree. I moved from Montrose to a slightly bigger house in Buchanan 5 years ago, & I still pay less taxes today than I did in Montrose. And what do my taxes get me?
-Twice a week garbage pick up, instead of once (including once having the truck come back and get my can after I called because I was late putting it out)
-Cops that show up in 5 minutes instead of half an hour
-Streets that are cleared when I leave for work after an overnight snow storm instead of snow covered when I come home from work
-& i could go on.
So don't knock what we've got. The alternative isn't what you think it is.
