Tarrytown Native Drafted To NHL

TARRYTOWN, N.Y. –  An 18-year-old Tarrytown native has been drafted in the third round of this year's NHL draft.

Brettt Pesce, a University of New Hampshire student, has been drafted to play for the Carolina Hurricanes.

Brettt Pesce, a University of New Hampshire student, has been picked to play for the Carolina Hurricanes. He was the fifth pick of the round and the 66th overall pick.

“best day of my life, truly blessed #canes #honor ,” Pesce tweeted Sunday.

Pesce recorded six goals during the 2012-13 season, playing in 38 out of 39 games. He has previously played for the North Jersey Avalanche, of the Metropolitan Junior Hockey League, in 2010-12 and the Jersey Hitmen, of the Eastern Junior Hockey League, in 2011-12. Pesce was also a member of the U.S. National Under-18 Team in the 2011 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament.
