Pastore Paces Irvington to Third-Place Finish

ARDSLEY. N.Y. – Brett Pastore highlighted an excellent Irvington performance Saturday as the Panthers finished third in the Joe Radomski Wrestling Tournament at Ardsley.

Pastore did not allow a point in three matches to win the 145-pound title. Justin Jimenez (113 pounds), Anthony DiNardo (285) and Peter Jones (152) were runners-up.

Irvngton coach Steve Aufiero said this was the team’s first tournament trophy in approximately 10 years.

“I am very proud of the team and the program,” said Aufiero, a former Westlake standout. “This is a huge accomplishment for us and we are looking to take the momentum into our duals with Harrison and Eastchester this week.”

Tyler Wexler (106) and Drew Cohen (138) each finished third. Wexler pinned Hastngs’ Rich Dosin in the third-place match. Aufiero said Wexler lost to Dosin last year in this tournament.

Fourth-place finishers were Kevin Degnan (195), Evan Pachon (182), Tristan Hickey (126) and Adam Krieger (220).
