The team, made up of kids age 13-14, won the New York State Championship last weekend and will be advancing to the double elimination regional tournament in New Jersey.

If they win the regional tournament they play in the Little League World

In the state tournament, the team went 7-0, outscoring their opponents a combined 65-13.

"We have a lot of pitchers and a lot of kids who can play different positions," manager Graig Galef said. "We are a well rounded and deep team. A lot of these kids have been playing together for the last 6-7 years. They know each other well.

Galef said it has been a lot of fun to manage the team, especially when he has so many pitching options.

"We’ve been together so long," Galef said. "They know what the coaches are going to say before they ay it.  They know what they can all do to help the team, they know what their roles are."

Some of the top players include Eric Yost, who hit a monster home run in the title game and Aidan Curry and AJ Manicchio, two of the top pitchers. Dan Galef, Graig's son, is the top defensive player on the team.

In the tournament, Graig Galef said it will be key to win the early games.

"It puts you at a huge advantage," Galef said.

The team is proud to represent Ossining, Galef said.

"They exhibit great sportmanship," Galef said. "They are very good kids both on and off the field."
