The Crusaders were behind Canisius.

Jamestown, Maine-Endwell and John Jay of Hopewell Junction in Dutchess County were also featured in the article.

The Crusaders, who finished 12-1 last year, kick off the season on Friday, Sept. 11, at Newburgh Free Academy. The Crusaders have 10 returning starters, five on each side of the ball, and will be led by Tyquell Fields, T.J. Morrison and Dan Negron.

John Jay is the lone Section 1 team in the top five. The Patriots went 9-2 last season.
