Stepinac improved to 7-0 with an impressive 38-21 win over St. Anthony’s. New Rochelle (7-0) beat Carmel, 32-0, and moved up to No. 10 while Iona Prep (5-2) is ranked 11th after moving up 11 spots with a 34-7 win over St. Joseph by the Sea of Staten Island.
Yorktown (6-0) slipped three spots to 42nd despite an impressive 27-14 win over John Jay.
Mamaroneck improved to 6-1 and with a 34-7 win over Suffern and moved up seven spots to 52nd. Scarsdale (6-1) improved 36 spots in the MaxPreps rankings with a 38-36 win over Rye, and is now ranked 69th. Rye slipped 16 spots to 70th. Scarsdale hosts Mamaroneck on Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
Malcolm Major rushed for 136 yards and a touchdown for Archbishop Stepinac in its win over St. Anthony’s.
Stepinac scored 14 fourth-quarter points to break the game open. Gavin Heslop scored on a 28-yard run and Major raced 49 yards for a score to break the game open. Heslop also scored on a 68-yard interception return in the second quarter to give the Crusaders the lead for good.
Quarterback Brandon Coleman completed 8-of-12 passes for 96 yards and a touchdown. He also rushed for 40 yards. Tyquan Ennis and Giancarlo Furio also had touchdowns for Stepinac.
