That's why the National Art Honor Student has been asked to paint a mural at the Galleria in White Plains that will be showcased during the Citywide Arts Show at the mall June 1 to June 9.

"We attended the White Plains High School 'Portfolio Week' and were so blown away by her work that we asked her to paint a mural here in the Galleria for us," said John S. Thompson, Marketing & Business Development manager.

Born and raised in White Plains, Lao, who will be attending the Rhode Island School of Design next year, expresses herself creatively across multiple mediums using intricate patterns, human elements, and bright vibrant colors.

Her work was featured as the winning design in the Katonah Museum of Art Young Artists Show 2017 and she created the signature piece for the White Plains Outdoor Arts Festival 2017.
