Westchester Student Scores Big In Siemens Competition

A student from Poughkeepsie and a student from Ardsley were selected as national finalists in the Siemens Competition in Math, Science & Technology.

Rachel Li of Spackenkill High School and Jainil Sutaria of Ardsley High School along with another student from Colorado won a team division runner-up prize and will split a $50,000 scholarship.

Their project developed a novel gel compound that could help bone regeneration in teeth by acting as a barrier to bacteria.
