Washington Irving Students Celebrate Dr. Seuss' Birthday
TARRYTOWN, N.Y. -- Washington Irving students, teachers and administrators spent a half-hour on Wednesday, March 2, deep in thought and reading school-wide, in honor of the birthday of the late Theodor Seuss Geisel, also known as Dr. Seuss.
Best known as the author of such children's classics as "The Cat in the Hat," "Horton Hatches the Egg." and "Horton Hears a Who!", Dr. Seuss was born in 1904. It was also the National Education Association's Read Across America Day.
