Tarrytown Schools Name New Principal At John Paulding

TARRYTOWN, N.Y. – An East Ramapo Central School District educator has been chosen as the next principal of John Paulding School.

Maureen Barnett has been named the next principal at John Paulding School in Tarrytown.

Maureen Barnett has been named the next principal at the elementary school by the Board of Education. She will start July 1 with a salary of $150,000.

Barnett replaces Rosemary Prati, who served as interim principal during the 2012-13 school year, and Michele Milliam, who retired in June 2012.

Barnett currently works as a principal at Hempstead Elementary School in Spring Valley, having held that position for four years. She has also served as principal of the Merrill L. Colton Intermediate School in Spring Valley for five years.

Barnett earned a bachelor's degree and master's in education from the Herbert H. Lehman College in The Bronx and an advanced certification in educational leadership and supervision from Hunter College in New York City.
