SLEEPY HOLLOW, N.Y. – Tarrytown school officials have named a Saratoga educator as the next assistant superintendent for instruction and personnel.
The Board of Education unanimously approved the hiring of Colleen Carroll during its Tuesday meeting. Carroll will replace Barbarann Tantillo, who is retiring in June.
“We're all very excited to bring her into the district,” School Board President B. Joseph Lillis said.
Carroll will begin her new job in July with a salary of $190,000.
Carroll earned her doctorate at the Sage Graduate School in Albany; a master's degree and advanced certification at the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts at North Adams; a master's degree at the Sage Graduate School in Troy; and a bachelor's degree at Russell Sage College in Troy.
She has served as the director of K-12 literacy for the Saratoga Springs City School District for four years, as an elementary principal in the Cambridge Central School District for one and a half years, and as an elementary principal in the Saranac Lake Central School District for one year.
