TARRYTOWN, N.Y. – The Tarrytown school district will take new steps to address student discipline after an investigation found mistakes were made that led to a two-week delay in reporting a stun gun incident, according to lohud.com.
Keane & Beane law firm has been asked to independently investigate the alleged Oct. 15 incident at Sleepy Hollow High School a statement on the district’s website says. The incident involved a 17-year-old female student, reports lohud.com.
“ ... the Board cannot provide details except to say ... errors in judgment were made and certain protocols were not followed,” the school's website statement says. "For that reason, staff training, and a calendar for that training, has been established ….”
The student turned herself in at Sleepy Hollow police on Nov. 4 to face a misdemeanor count of weapons possession reports The Journal News.
