SLEEPY HOLLOW, N.Y. Sleepy Hollow High School Principal Carol Conklin-Spillane has been named Administrator of the Year by the Empire State Administrators' Association .
The school district announced the award Tuesday, saying Conklin-Spillane will receive her award at a banquet to be held later this month.
Mrs. Conklin-Spillane is being recognized for her many years in the field of education, including 18 years of leadership at Sleepy Hollow High, and for creating a curricular vision that supports student achievement and a positive learning environment, the school district said. She has also been instrumental in raising concerns with regard to New York states new APPR [Annual Professional Performance Review] protocols.
The award covers the Empire State Administrators' Association Region 2, which encompasses Westchester and Putnam counties. The region includes 38 school districts.
The state association says its mission is to champion public education, as well as provide legal support and direct legislative representation, to members.
