Students were recognized for achieving high honor roll, honor roll and perfect attendance so far this year.

James Rathsmidt, Founder of United for the Troops, who has worked with the middle school's 7th grade students on Team Narwhal and Team Yeti, was the keynote speaker at the event.

Rathsmidt and the students collected more than 1,000 items for the organization, which sends a “little piece of home” to members of the military serving overseas.

The items were shipped to those serving in the military just in time for the holiday season.

The students also wrote cards of support and well wishes to be included in the packages.
