The items, which were collected over the past few weeks, were donated to the Community Food Pantry of Tarrytown.

Motivated by the promise of candy prizes for the winning team, students counted their food items with help from math teachers Thomas Adams and Gregory Large.

The Red Team collected 425 items and walked away winners, but the White Team was close behind with 364 food items.

In the end, all the students received candy prizes.

"Look at all the families you have helped," said teacher Joan Mullin, who helped organize the drive. "You are all winners for doing this."
