Sleepy Hollow HS Students Present Studies At Science, Humanities Symposium

SLEEPY HOLLOW, N.Y. -- Sleepy Hollow High School science research students, along with 450 students from the Westchester region, presented their studies Saturday at the Westchester-Rockland Junior Science and Humanities Symposium.

Senior Elizabeth Sobolik came in first place in cell and molecular biology and senior Colin Atkinson came in fourth place in computer science in the Power Point division. Sobolik and Atkinson will be advancing to the state competition in Albany this March.

Three seniors also received honorable mention for their research: Heather Brown for her work in biochemistry, Austen Paris for engineering and Dan Moriarty for behavioral science.

In the poster division, junior Elizabeth Silver finished in third place overall in the poster competition and in second place for cellular and molecular biology.

Both seniors Emily Comas and Clare Johnson finished in second place for their division. Comas presented on animal science and Johnson on behavioral science.
