Sleepy Hollow High School's Sara Friedman Wins Community Service Award

SLEEPY HOLLOW, N.Y. – Sleepy Hollow High School senior Sara Friedman was honored as a Distinguished Finalist for New York in the 2015 Prudential Spirit of Community Awards.

Friedman, the author of “The Gluten-Free Guide to Washington, D.C.,” received a bronze medal in an awards ceremony Monday.

Friedman donated the $6,000 of profits from her book to the Center for Celiac Research at Massachusetts General Hospital, where she has also served as an intern, according to a press release.
