Tarrytown School District Names New Principal, District Administrator

 

SLEEPY HOLLOW, N.Y. – Two new administrators will join the Public Schools of the Tarrytowns in July.

 

Thomas Holland has been appointed principal of the Winfield L. Morse Elementary School in Sleepy Hollow, replacing Rosemary Prati, and Scott Dorn will become the Director of Pupil Personnel Services.

 

“Both candidates emerged as the clear first choice following a thorough selection process and we look forward to working with them to ensure a smooth transition to their new roles,” the school district said recently.

 

Holland's salary will be $142,042. Dorn's salary will be $141,873.

 

Holland and Dorn had not responded to requests for comment by the time of publication.

 

Holland has spent five years in the Ardsley Union Free School District, working first as the assistant principal at Ardsley Middle School for four years and now ending a one-year tenure as principal at Concord Road Elementary. Holland has also worked as a second, fourth and fifth-grade teacher in the Clarkstown Central School District for nine years.

 

Holland has earned degrees from SUNY Plattsburgh, Iona College and Manhattan College.

 

Dorn has been the current assistant coordinator for special education in the Wappingers Central School District for the past year. He has also worked as a school social worker and CSE chairperson in the Monticello Central School District for 11 years.

 

Dorn earned degrees from Syracuse University and SUNY New Paltz.
