Pocantico Hills School Board Elects President, VP

POCANTICO HILLS, N.Y. – Two familiar faces have been re-elected as officers of the Pocantico Hills Board of Education.

Trustees voted Monday night to re-elect John Conrad and David M. Wilens as president and vice president of the Board of Education for the 2012-13 school year.

“Here we are again,” Conrad said during Monday's meeting. “I just want to thank you for the nomination and the confidence that you've shown in me to once again take the chair of this Board of Education.”

Conrad and Wilens had previously served as president and vice president during the 2011-12 school year. Trustee Emily Segal told Conrad and Wilens that the rest of the trustees “really appreciate the effort that you put into the job.”

“There's so much work going on just to keep the things rolling and make sure that we have all the information that we need and that we keep on course,” she said. “You guys are a wonderful team together, and you really bring out the best in all of us.”

Wilens said the entire board was responsible for getting things done.

“The reason it works so well is because of all of us,” he said.

Conrad agreed.

“As I've told you over and over again, none of this happens without all of your efforts and all of us pulling together in the same direction,” he said.
