POCANTICO HILLS, N.Y. -- Pocantico Hills School recently turned into a circus, much to the delight of students and their parents.
The school hosted an interactive circus arts workshop last Friday presented by the Pocantico Hills PTA and featuring the Amazing Grace Circus.
The Amazing Grace Circus had visited the school last winter as part of a physical education curriculum. Students learned basic circus skills that included walking on a tight wire, balancing, juggling, walking on stilts, plate spinning, and other balance and motion activities.
At the workshop, Pocantico Hills students brought their parents through the various circus stations that they had learned and helped their parents experience the skills as they did.
“Our families and community had an amazing time at the circus family fun night, complete with inspiring teen troupe circus performance and circus skills workshop where students and parents participated together, and students were able to perform their circus skills,” said Annalisa Altieri, PTA president.
