Altmann addressed students on March 18 as part of their study of the Holocaust.

The examination of this topic by students and teachers is connected to the District’s Character Education Framework in which students are asked to address the question of “When is inaction action?”

As part of their unit of work, students are encouraged to consider ways in which the actions, and inaction, of individuals and groups have the power to change the course of history in positive and negative ways.

In her speech, Altmann shared her personal story and focused on the power that students have to change the course of history through their leadership. Altmann also held a questions and answers session, which proved to be plentiful and deeply thoughtful.
