IRVINGTON, N.Y. – The Irvington School District announced that Deborah Mariniello would take over as the principal of Dows Lane Elementary School, effective July 1.
Currently the assistant principal of Irvington High School, Mariniello was appointed during Tuesday night's Board of Education meeting.
“It is with great excitement that I accept this position,” said Mariniello. “I genuinely look forward to meeting all the students and families of Dows Lane, as well as to join the staff in leading the incredible work which makes Dows Lane such a special place.”
Mariniello is an experienced educator, having been a teacher and administrator for 18 years. She was the assistant principal at Dows Lane during the 2012-13 school year, having previously taught kindergarten, third- and fourth-grade.
There are plans to hold a meet and greet session with Mariniello before the school year begins in September, and the Board of Education has begun a search for her replacement at Irvington High.
